The marriage proposal was not a part of the script, but realistic situation. The man planned the whole scene with the producers of the TV show and had told to his girlfriend that they received a price to participate in one episode of "How I Met Your Mother". So, he prposed to his girlfriend to be his wife and that marriage proposal will "live forever", recorded as a part of an episode of this popular sitcom.
Alyson Hannigan was pregnant during the filming of many episodes of the fourth season, but the producers were not interested to display Lily pregnant. In most of the episodes are used various TV tricks to hide the pregnancy of the actress. However in the episode „The Possimpible“, the pregnant belly of Lily is shown because she "won" the contest in eating hot dogs. Later the producers find out that Cobie Smulders (Robyn) is also pregnant, so the costume makers had a lot of work to hide the pregnancy of the two main female roles in the sitcom.
Another interesting thing is that in the show, nobody ever finds out the working position of Barney in the bank in which he works. Whenever his friends will ask him what is exactly his job, he sarcastically replies "Please!"
Before they start fillming How I Met Your Mother in 2005, Ted (Josh Radnor) and Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) had already starred together as lovers in the movie "The Paris Letter" This is interesting, beacuse Barney who plays a womanizer, is gay in real life. In october 2010, Neil and his longtime partner David Burtka, got twins from surrogate mother.
